Beautiful Journey...

The last few days have been amazing again. Two incredible Maori spirits from Aotearoa came back to Hawai'i to share their mana'o on healing our people. Healing our families. Our 'ohana. Our prisoners and their torn families. One of them also had a Hawaiian kupuna and this was a homecoming of sorts. Their mana'o resonated deep in my na'au as both pono and prophetic. It was intense, but without burden, thus energizing me, unlike last week's spiritual events which drained me. The spirits of our kupuna were very much present. Ke Akua gave his blessings. One powerful Hawaiian woman leader acknowledged her kaumaha from an intense exchange we had earlier in the week. She sought forgiveness in her own awkward special way when there really was none to seek. As I grabbed her hand and clasped it to hold during the closing prayer, the pule, she leaned into me in a simple gesture of seeking forgiveness. I kissed the top of her head. She looked up at me. I too needed forgiveness. I held up her hand and kissed it and told her I loved her. It was such an unexpected spontaneous tender exchange that it surprised her and I. But it truly cleansed us both. That is the power of Ke Akua, God. The power of our kupuna, ancestors. The power of mihi, forgiveness. The power of pono, righteousness. The power of love. This is Aloha...
