Connections...

Often after dropping Koa off at school. I pass by Puea cemetery. One of the cemeteries which the State of Hawai'i Department of Accounting and General Services maintains. Sometimes the inmate work crews are busy cleaning the grounds and cutting the weeds and grass. I am sure the kupuna appreciate someone tending to their graves. Even if it is forced labor. I am not sure if inmates can volunteer for this duty or if it is mandatory. I think it is an excellent opportunity to connect with the ancestors. They can surely help you get your life back on track and support you during those difficult times when temptation leads you astray and towards old habits. Providing spiritual support and love can truly make the difference to set a life anew...
