Children need to really enjoy their childhood and all the new adventure. It only comes this way but once in life. Unless you are like me. Everyday is a new adventure. And I refuse to know any better...

The Look...
I get this look a lot from women after I photograph them too. I am not sure exactly what it means. Sometimes their ears flare out too. Probably not a good sign...

Smart Bird...
The early bird gets the worm. The smart bird sleeps in and then gets the nutritious filled meal worm from the zookeeper...

Hanging On...
It seems to me that the strategy of lying down and hanging on works better than sitting up and winging it. Just an observation. Looks like a perfect way to spend a hot Summer day. At least for three out of the four...

Fleeting...
There are some moments in life you must savor and treasure. They go quickly. Often never to return. If you immerse yourself in the moment. You can recall them in detail forever. If you don't pay attention. You will yearn to relive them over and over again. An impossibility. Forever...

Gross...
First thing to teach the children. Don't drink the water you swim, wash, pee and poop in. You and every other bird in the neighborhood...

So fragile this love of mine...

Sunbathing...
If you worship the sun too much. And sunbathe too much. You will end up looking like the sunbathing heat-seeking cold-blooded terrapin. Sans the shell of course. But the rest will probably match...

Choices...
Some women wear way too much makeup. The further you get away from the real natural you. The more and more effort it takes to arrive at what Ke Akua knew all along. How to make the real naturally beautiful you. Some male birds, however, have no choice in the makeup department. So let's have a moment of silence for them. Okay. That's enough...

Separated...
We were separated. She reached out repeatedly. I couldn't reach her. She yearned for a caress. I just wanted to touch her. I told her love would find a way. I'll return tonight with my bolt cutters and crow bar...

For the Birds...
This Honolulu Zoo worker brought out a big ziploc bag full of fish fingerlings. She began spreading them around the grass. The birds flocked to the feast. If I had some poi with me. I would have joined in...

Aging...
It is nice to know that even as you age. You need not worry about blemishes and growing signs of maturity on the surface. You need not be perpetually dazzling to the world. Because love allows me to see the beauty within. And that makes you truly bedazzling. Forever...

Infringement...
This woman caught such a remarkable once-in-a-lifetime photograph. As she was marveling at it on her camera screen, the man behind her took a picture of her screen and now has her photo too. And now I have her. Her photo. Him stealing her photo. I am Lord of the Paparazzi...

Mystery...
Kalani caught this mysterious animal on Maui. I am not sure if it is a dog or some type of wolverine. Get it? X-Men? Oh, never mind...

Spirits...
I didn't see any spirits. But they saw me. And I felt them. I want to keep it that way for now. Until I am ready. To see them...

Excitement...
People travel thousands of miles to Hawai'i. Some have never seen a real beach or the magnificent Pacific Ocean. Or a beautiful black sand beach. Or rare sea turtles up close and personal. I can understand their excitement and happiness. It is infectious. I try not to take anything for granted living here. We are so very, very, incredibly blessed...
