Rock Hunt...

Dad majored in Geology at Rutgers. He collected rocks from all over our family travels. Here he has some local volcanic rock with green olivine crystals in it. It is high in iron and magnesium. The olivine is what makes the Green Sand Beach on Hawai'i Island green. So they have black sand, green sand and beige sand beaches on Hawai'i Island. Pretty cool. When my dad met my mom. He used to take her out in the desert and they would look for rocks. Sounds like a pretty awesome date. Looking for rocks in the desert. I am lucky I was even born. Seriously...
