College...

Around the University area. You can find students doubled up on mopeds. Quite illegal. Dangerous. But common. That is college risk taking. At least the operator isn't talking on the cellphone. Just the passenger. I've seen that before too. Recently. A self-made millionaire, rags to riches story, ended tragically when the individual was hit and killed on a moped. He could have had any car he wanted. A moped. I wouldn't let a loved one ride one. That is for sure...

The college-reasoning is to roll one's eyes, because they just KNOW how smart they are, and how good their youthful reflexes are, like "omigod! I am a GOOD driver, for real!" They forget entirely the other side of the equation...that there are lots of people out there, driving BIG vehicles, who don't have the youthful reflexes, or have kids fighting in the backseat, or who are driving DUI, etc.

But then that's where the term "sophomore" comes from the Greek = "sophos" wise + moros "fool"...thus the weird condition of being college-aged, being a "wise fool"
