Kukaniloko...





I went to Kukaniloko in Wai'anae uka with Koa and his classmates. The sacred piko, or center of O'ahu and birthing place of the chiefs. Beautiful Kumu Snowbird taught the children the immense value of the pohaku. A light blessing female rain fell when we arrived and the children chanted in unison to the kupuna kahiko. Then it cleared up into a beautiful day. When we left after about an hour there, the children did their oli mahalo. Then the light rain fell again. It was simply awesome...
