Normal...
Now that the big Tsunami scare that everyone woke up to yesterday is over. Life can fortunately go back to normal. Safe. Secure. Comfortable. For some of us...

Pump Rush...
I woke up to the Tsunami warning sirens this morning after the large earthquake in Chile yesterday. When I looked out my window, cars were lining up at the gas station near my home to stock up. I have a suspicion that large petroleum companies have something to do with earthquakes and tsunami generation. Just a hunch...

Glorious...
The other day, the setting Sun was absolutely spectacular and glorious. The beautiful scene from my vantage point was only marred by the harsh silhouette of a high-rise under construction and the construction crane. That pretty much sums up the battle for Hawai'i right now...

Bull...
This Bulbul is considered a pest in Hawai'i. They don't bother me too often so I don't consider them a pest. If they bother our native birds, then I consider them a pest. This male is considered a bird bully because of his harassing actions. In Afghanistan, they are commonly known as KabulBulbulBullies. And that is no bull...

Limber...
Tomorrow I am going to stretch a little and then try to put my foot by my face. This little boy called me out in a challenge. If it doesn't work out well. You can find me at Queen's Hospital in Intensive Care...

Everything...
In the shimmering beauty of the world...
In a million moments of life...
Only one has any meaning...
And it gently arrives...
When I hold you...

Harmony...
In Waikiki, I spotted a big school of mullet and needle-fish swimming together in Peace and Harmony. Respecting each other's differences. Sharing space. Sharing food. What a lesson for the rest of world. And to think that if I had my throw net with me, I could have caught them all in one fell swoop and roasted them alive on the grill. Then ate their soft delicious parts and thrown away the rest like waste. Some people see World Peace that way. That is a problem...

Smashing Bad Time...
I often had the urge to run through walls and smash everything in sight. Mostly when I was enraged. It is an absolutely terrible way to express frustration. Leading only to terror, hurt, fright and injury. I punched a table and broke my hand once. Wholly unacceptable. It is the Incredible Hulk syndrome. I know many men who have it. It accounts for road rage too. It takes a whole shift in your worldview. But it leads you to the world of Peace. Non-violence. Coping with urges to physically release pent up emotions. That is critical. Hitting anything only leads to blackness. Holes in your drywall is ridiculous. Now I found the way of self-control. This only leads to light. Even if I come back in a next life as a Rhino. I will be a gentle giant. I won't smash anything. I promise. Because I am already there...

Bundle of Life...
I was going to try and say something profound. Then I realized that this beautiful gift of a baby is profound in and of herself. Nothing more needed...

'Iolani Palace...
Sometimes I go to 'Iolani Palace in the dead of night. To see the moon. The stars. The flag. And in the still silence, I communicate with the spirits. The lapu. So far. It has only been one way communication. But I have seen the signs. I know they are listening. Someone tried to sneak up behind me to hit me on the head and steal my camera. But something scared him away when I turned. That wasn' t me. That was my lapu friends. So I mind my own business. Then I fade away into the blackness before law enforcement officers from the Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Conservation and Resource Enforcement show up. Please don't tell anyone. This is my private time with my Queen...

Exhausted...
No matter how seemingly utterly exhausted I am at the end of most days, I know there are those who are much more exhausted than me. Every single day. Worn out. Losing hope. And that keeps me going. For them...
