Magic...
The āholehole. Because of the meaning of hole, to strip away, this fish was used for magic, as to chase away evil spirits and for love magic. I spy my little love magic fish...

Carriers...
I saw these two beautiful birds in Hilo by the Bay. I think they were Kolea, plovers, but I have never seen such beautiful colors on a Kolea before. When I was up at Halema'uma'u the other night, offering my pule to Ke Akua, akua Pele, and my mother, I saw a Plover on the dark Volcano road near the steam vents. I have never seen a Kolea walking on the road at night at 4000 feet up. I immediately thought of Koleamuku. The Hawaiian akua who helped take prayers up to the Heavens via the Kolea. Beautiful bird. Working late at night and overtime to help me. I love that bird...

Pele...
Dad and I ended our day together at Kalapana. Watching akua Pele creep towards the ocean. The fires burned incendiary hot. Mother burned in the embers this morning. Tomorrow morning, I will gather her precious iwi. I will wash them in kai, sea water, mixed with ʻōlena , tumeric. Then bundle her up in cloth. My beautiful friend in Kaumana is weaving her a special lauhala container to put her into. Hala. To pass. We will bring her home. This is mālama pūʻolo...

Performance...
Elliott played violin for his grandmother as she lay dying. He is so brave. So beautiful. The songs never sounded so hauntingly beautiful and ethereal as his violin cut through the emotional laden cold Volcano air. Minuet. Gavotte. Grandmother conducted. It was a final performance. It brought joy to my soul. Tears to my eyes. Shreds to my heart...

Great...
This is my great-great-grandfather, Isaac Williams, who was a physician and served in the 144th Regiment out of New York State in the Civil War. He is with his second wife, Carrie. He teaches me and guides me on matters of grave importance. I love him deeply. And Carrie too...

Solace...
Tonight I ventured out into the frigid blustery night to spend some time alone. But Ke Akua wouldn't let me be alone. Neither would akua Pele. Nor my ancestors. Nor the Moon and Stars. Nor my mother. And no words can describe how much I love them all for that...

Deadly...
A proud peacock isn't deadly. They can chase you and peck you. But they aren't deadly. Pride however is one of the deadly sins. So a peacock can be deadly with too much pride. Deadly to himself. And that goes for humans too...
