Redemption...


I found this old photo from my college days. My good friend, Tim, who was in my Photography class came with me to Makapuʻu at night near the famous Blow Hole Lookout where you can see a gusher of sea water shoot up out of a lavatube when the waves come in and compress the water forcing it out of the small skylight in the tube. We climbed down the cliff near the ocean and with the full moon in the background, Tim made a silhouette while I put the camera on a tripod and took a lighter and lit a can of underarm spray deodorant across the frame to make the flames. It brings back such beautiful memories...
