Ha'aheo...


I am so very truly proud of my son, Elliott, for undergoing the rigors of learning the hula and performing. Makes me so very humbled and grateful for his Kumu. When my Mother was dying, she often opened her one good eye and glanced all around the living room ceiling, watching movement. When I asked her what she saw, she often saw Hawaiians of old getting ready to dance hula. There were feather 'ahu'ula, or capes, canoes, men, women, and children. Always preparing to dance. Awaiting her blessed arrival on her last sacred journey home...
