Blessings...

Some people expressed disappointment that the recent Tsunami waves that reached Hawai'i weren't bigger, more destructive and more exciting. Words have power. Be very careful what you wish for...

Love...

I am sending my beautiful sister, Nalani, much Love, Light, and Prayers as she battles insidious Cancer. I humbly ask Ke Akua to send a Legion of Healing Angels to her for physical, emotional, mental and spiritual healing, whatever Thy Will. She tended to me in the hospital during my recent crisis despite her own condition. There is no Greater Love. My clarity of vision after my own Resurrection is unobstructed. She is the sweetest of Souls and I love her immensely...

Ideas...

I told Elliott he could be Bride of Frankenstein for Halloween if he wanted to...

...and Koa could be that elastic guy from Fantastic Four...

Closer...

Some places...like Kalawao in Kalaupapa on Molokai...allow you to clearly see your own Soul...

Bubbly...

Submerse yourself in the beautiful bubbles of Life and let all your cares and burdens float away...

Mai Poina...

We must never forget our beloved kupuna at Naue. A Native Hawaiian cemetery with a beachfront vacation home knowingly built on top of them...

Change...

A beautiful large upright pohaku located at One'ula. This picture was taken in 1998. The stone was five feet high and seemingly much larger than a usual Ku'ula stone. I believe it may have been the legendary Pohaku o Lanai known to be located in the area. A kanaka raised in the area by his great-grandmother remembers her taking him and his siblings out to the various pohaku in the area. The grandmother would place the children's fingers into the holes in the pohaku and talk to the rocks. The stone is nowhere to be found today, probably destroyed and used for fill. I think about Nana Veary's beautiful mo'olelo...Change We Must. We must change...and stop destroying what little of our kupuna's legacy we have left...for na mamo...the future...

Mustang...

A descendant of the Spanish Mustangs brought to the islands for Paniolo riders still living in a wild herd in Waipi'o Valley, a portal to the Underworld. Spirit abounds...

Sherwoods...

After two days back at work...it was nice to spend my Saturday with Elliott and his school classmates helping them with their music video at Sherwoods Beach on O'ahu...

Cemetery...

A development project in Kewalo near Honolulu on the island of O'ahu where piles were driven into the ground to support the imminent condominium project. When the ground was excavated to pour concrete for the pile caps, coffins and other burials were discovered. One coffin was cut in half by a pile driven into the ground with the entire upper torso and head obliterated. Another kupuna had the most beautiful poi pounder resting on his chest...

Stolen...

The beautiful massive mural painted by the amazing and talented late artist, Herb Kane, in Punalu'u on the island of Hawai'i. Thieves cut the wall apart and stole the entire mural...

Magic...

Remembering when my son Koa was younger and dressed up like Harry Potter. I didn't have the heart to tell him that he looked more like Hermione...

Light...

Having once been ashamed...
I learned to celebrate my darkness...
As it makes my journey into the Light...
Incredibly more meaningful...
And so, so truly beautiful...

Memories...

I was going through old CD computer disks and I found this Poser rendering I put together about six years ago based upon a dream I had. Not sure where I was headed with this one. I can't really remember the dream either...

Gently...

Just to quietly and gently breathe you in...
To know you are really here...

'Ike Hawai'i...

To see, know, feel, greet, recognize, perceive, experience, be aware, understand things Hawaiian...

Recollections...

I have been thinking a lot about beautiful people I know, young and old, who have passed on. People who gave so much of their life helping to perpetuate 'ike Hawai'i and na'au pono. Many leading by example...mahalo piha ia 'oukou pākahi āpau...

Ha'aha'a...

Ha'aha'a: Low, lowly, minimum, humble, degraded, meek, unpretentious, modest, unassuming, unobtrusive; lowness, humility...

Presence...

The kupuna were very present in the Heavens today...

Pohaku...

This large flat boulder is adjacent to Punalu'u Nui Heiau in Ka'u on Hawai'i Island. The name of the stone is "Kahiholo." Sacrificial victims were placed on the stone, cut open and then thrown in the ocean which flows next to the pohaku. Kahi, to slice open, and holo, to flow. The current would take the bodies around the bend and around the heiau as offerings. The stone is still greasy from human fluids. Some people think a rock is a rock is a rock. Not in Hawai'i Nei...

Lessons...

As I quietly wash your feet...
And try to salve your wounds...
I realize that some Souls here on Earth...
Are not here for their own learning...
They are here to teach lessons...
To the rest of us...

Redemption...

I have hurt everyone in my life...
Destroyed every meaningful relationship...
Extinguished every beautiful Light...
Bit every extended hand...
Now I exist in the darkest hole of my own creation...
Hoping to quietly fade away in the endless blackness...
Erasing myself from every painful memory of yours...
Being forgotten is all I could offer...
But I was blinded...
By the brightest, most intense Light...
Shining down on me...
Your endless love...
And as I close my eyes forever...
I can finally see...
Your loving forgiveness...
The only beacon of hope...
As I cross the darkest river of pain...
To forgive myself...

Pu'uhonua...

I miss work. I miss my co-workers. Beneficiaries. My office...my pu'uhonua. To reflect and contemplate. My place of refuge...

Sustenance...

In the After Life, I can consume this kind of food. In this World, I need to stop unless I want to speed up my entrance into the Spirit World...
