Loss...

It has been very windy, rainy and cold lately. I often think about how fortunate I am to have a roof and a bed. We often look at the less fortunate empathizing with their hardship and suffering. Sometimes we do something about it, or at least try to. Most times, we pass right by pretending not to notice or rationalizing that we are in a hurry for important things to do and can't be bothered. Sometimes we think that someone else will step in, and help. Government agencies, churches and other organizations. At least we think that someone will help. At some point. Hopefully before death sets in.

We often think of a life lost in the struggle. Or a family lost with a loved one facing addiction, mental health issues, or other challenges. If we think about the brilliant minds that have emerged throughout history, bringing new ideas that changed our World forever or saved millions of lives. We never know when someone could have been that one person in seven billion who would change the lives of our children and the future forever. It isn't just a loss for an individual or a family. It can be a loss for all of Humanity...
