Remembering...

Image
I remember my Father and I... Would take long walks Together... On Mauna Loa Road... Just the Two of Us... Quietly enjoying the Beauty of this World... We didn't talk Much... Sometimes when you are with someone you Love... You just kind of Know... And Understand... Each Other... And when they are Gone... You still Know and Understand... Each Other... Without Words... With Love...

Today was a most Powerful day. From beginning to end. A day starting out with Ke Akua, the ancestors and our Hawaiian gods. Healing Energy. Water. Forgiveness. The Double-Rainbow. Love. It moved on with more ceremony. This time about Sacrifice. The Fallen. A Mother's Love for the Greatest Sacrifice a Son could make. War. Peace. Remembrance. Love. As the rains fell and mixed with tears. It then ended with my own Beloved Parents. To be able to run my fingers across their newly installed engraved headstone inscriptions with my eyes closed, and feel, with each letter, and number, the finality of their Eternal Rest. More Tears. Gratitude. I had wanted to write up today's stories, but it just wasn't flowing. Spirit said let it rest. For Tonight. Just Post something simple. Something Beautiful. Something Healing. So I Always Listen to Spirit. That is one of the reasons why I am still here. And Alive...

'Ike Hawai'i...

Image
Today we had a Beautiful sharing of 'ike Hawai'i at Damien Memorial School. High school classses learned about Hawaiian history, culture, values and 'ike utilizing a vast assortment of mea Hawai'i. Hawaiian artifacts, and cultural materials. We covered all aspects of ancient Hawaiian society including utilitarian and religious subjects, class systems, warfare, Mana, akua, and Spirit. The melding of Hawaiian Spirituality in a Roman Catholic School celebrating Christ was profoundly Beautiful. Deeply grateful for the profound Love Saint Damien showed our beloved people afflicted with Hansen's Disease, to the point of giving up his own Life to comfort and care for others, truly the ultimate sacrifice. It was Beautiful and Healing to give a little back to the children and their Kumu who are helping to keep his Legacy of Aloha alive...

View...

Sometimes when you trip and fall flat on your face, enjoy the view before you pick yourself back up. Often Ke Akua is teaching you multiple lessons, one of which is to adjust your view and perspective on the World...
