Hōʻailona...

Some years ago there was a controversy about culling sharks in Papahānaumokuākea, the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands, because sharks were preying on young Monk Seals. This Hōʻailona appeared off of Honolulu...

Prayer...

I woke up early this morning and in my daily routine, Prayed while in the shower, gazing out upon the Rising Light in the East. Always thanking Ke Akua Mana Loa, Christ and Beautiful Blessed Mother Mary, the Divine Female, for another Precious Day of Light, Life, Sacred Breath and Everlasting Love. Thankful for Their Divine Grace and Mercies, and Abiding and Loving Presence, and that of the Holy Spirit, in my Life, and All of our Lives.

Grateful each morning for the day and night before and watching over, and out for, my Precious wife and Beloved two sons. Thankful for Thy continued Healing of my family and I, Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual. Humbly requesting to keep my Family close to Him, close to each other, and holding me close, Protecting and Guiding me at work, in my often difficult and sensitive work.

I then extend similar prayers to all 'ohana members, here and on the Other Side of the Veil. I thank my Guardian Angels, Spirit Guides, 'Aumakua, and all Sentient Spiritual Beings helping me on my Journey. I send Love and Gratitude to my Mother and Father, Sister there, and Sister here, and all my ancestors who Delivered me to this Life.

The acknowledgements and responses often arrive in cool breezes against my face during parts of the Prayer.

I then run down a list of those I know suffering health battles, recent crime and accident victims in the news and those on Social Media who passed away, and their 'ohana.

At my Nightly shower, I give similar thanks for the day that we had, and bringing everyone home safe.

I find the Prayers in the Shower are particularly powerful for me, as the water vapor in my Breath and Words, take Life when mixed with the Steam of the Shower, and float out of the little bathroom window and out into the Water Vapor Laden Atmosphere to spread all over Sleepy Honolulu and Ascend to the Heavens.

We are the Living Water Gourds of Kāne. Holding, and spilling forth, the Life Giving Waters. In our Powerful Words and Breath of Ke Akua...

Like I have said before, when you Pray for Yourself, with Humility and Piety, your Prayers are Strong. When you Pray for Loved Ones, Friends and Other Beloveds, your Prayers are even more Powerful. When you Pray for complete Strangers, your Prayers become even more Powerful and Effective. And when you Pray for your Enemies who Hate, Despise and Resent you, with Love and Forgiveness, your Prayers are Truly Unstoppable.

With Humility and Gratitude. Always...with, and in, Love...

Mai Poina...

Remembering a reflective somber sojourn into 'Iao Valley on the Island of Maui. I stared, mesmerized, at this Female Spirit, a Kupua, Water Deity, as her face undulated in the wake of the Pōhaku. She allowed me to capture several photos in which her facial expressions slightly changed.

As the Sun was setting, it reminded me of the Battle of Kepaniwai. A critical battle in the effort to unify the separate island Kingdoms into One and bring everlasting Peace through such great sacrifice, suffering and devastation.

The Wailuku river, the "Waters of Destruction" was damned in 'Iao with the bodies of the slain. The waters turned red with blood. My ancestors fought and killed each other on both sides of the conflict. I shall never forget the lessons. The cost of War...

Ephemera...

My Paternal Grandfather passed away when I was about five years old. My father, my first son, and I, all carry his name. He went in to repair a hernia, and the surgeon decided to work on his Heart while he was being operated on for his hernia. My grandfather never left the operating table alive.

I too have hernia issues and heart issues. In my Healing Journey, I have learned that it is less of a hereditary physical and medical condition and more a Spiritual and Family Trauma condition that carries forward through generations.

I am so very grateful that my grandfather saved so much ephemera from his Life as it allows me to get to know him better. Things that get thrown away, lost or otherwise destroyed are a simple valued Treasure at this point in my Life.

I don't think he knew at the time how much this would mean to his descendants. How much it would mean to me. His namesake.

It makes me think about my descendants and the ephemera that I discard so readily.

Now I am going to go look for my Def Leppard Concert ticket stubs...

Remembering...

Remembering a Journey into Waipi'o Valley. When I close my eyes, I can feel the cold river water rushing past my back and legs. The smells of the surrounding vegetation. The sounds of the rocks tumbling and the splashing rivulets.

Remembering the sights of prawns dashing about and 'o'opu darting beneath us. The distant echoes of wild stallions galloping and challenging each other in the valley.

Most of all I remember the laughter after such a serious photo. I remember the strong Presence of Spirit with us. All before such Tragedy would enter our young Lives.

Now, in my older years, I savor the sights, sounds, smells and touch of everything around me. Especially people. Such that I can close my eyes and travel back in Time. To remember, and savor, the Essence of Beautiful Sacred you....
