Vulture...

Image
On my way to work, I often see this rare Mynah Bird Vulture. His head is devoid of plume. He often gets mobbed by other Mynah birds but can hold his own. I am always rooting for him. Sometimes he just perches up high and watches for carrion to come down and feast. He is quite handsome. That's why the other birds mob him. Jealous birds...

Proof...

Image
Koa wanted me to capture proof for the World that he was brave enough to watch the horror movie, The Woman in Black...starring Harry Potter...I mean, Daniel Radcliffe....

Redemption...

Image
The ancestors, in their quiet reflective solitude, seek Redemption, as the culmination of their suffering and sacrifice, in the promising lives of the children...

Sharing...

Image
Today, my co-worker, Keola, and my son, Koa, and I shared na mea Hawai'i and 'Ike Hawai'i with the wonderful 4th Grade students of Saint Mark Lutheran School. The haumana were very engaged and attentive. The spirit was profoundly beautiful. Ke Akua was in the House. So was Kūnuiākea. Jesus too. Life doesn't get much better than that...

Flowing...

It slowly draws me in...until I drown in my own Heart...

Permission...

Image
I put this composite together to remind myself that we share our physical World with many spirits who still reside here. We must always be respectful and cognizant of their presence and feelings. We ask for permission before we enter their space. They often have deep attachments to their World just as we do. We will one day join them...

Lunching...

Image
We stopped by Your Kitchen at 10th Avenue in Kaimuki last weekend. They make Shave Ice as well as a variety of Japanese inspired lunches. Their Pork Tonkatsu Curry is great as is their Salmon. Here is Elliott's Oyakodon...

Advice...

Image
I let Koa know, as a general rule, no matter how much you love a pair of sunglasses...if they make you look like an insect...they are probably too big. Just a rule of thumb...

Shopping...

Image
Shopping at Ala Moana Center this past weekend has never been so exciting and glamorous before. I didn't buy anything however...

Modeling...

Image
Children are very observant. Always watching. Listening. Sensing. Feeling. If we are to be great role models, we must always be modeling. Always...

Ponderer...

Image
On my early morning walk to work last week, I came upon this cat. We looked intensely into each others eyes...pondering our place in the Universe. Then he disappeared into the darkness between two buildings. I disappeared into the darkness between two Worlds...

Hoa Aloha...

Image
As I grabbed my things to make it down to the beach after work...I realized that I couldn't go and leave Mr. Pohaku behind. He loves to hiuwai and kapukai and immerse himself in the ocean just as much as we all do. He was incredibly happy and at peace. That made me happy and at peace too.  We had a long conversation. I spoke with Ke Akua. Iesu. Kū, Kanaloa, Lono and Kāne. I also spoke with my 'Aumakua, ʻĀnela kiaʻi or Guardian Angels, and 'uhane kako'o, or my spirit guides. They all have been working overtime to sustain me. I apologized for being so selfish. It was truly humbling. Four women speaking French floated near me and then excitedly swam and splashed away. They probably thought I was nuts...lol...

Healing...

Image
I had wanted to get into the ocean many times recently but have found myself too busy or too exhausted. Today, when I came home, I was feeling the ill-effects of spiritual baggage and stress. I have felt lousy and weak for weeks now. I knew that I had no choice anymore. I needed to get into the ocean otherwise I might suffer severe consequences.  I felt like I might actually expire. I made it to Ala Moana Beach. Just in time. With seconds to spare...

Kupua...

Image
I met a wahine o ka pō...a wife of the night, up in the mountains. A spirit lover. It was believed that a child born of such a mating might resemble an eel, lizard, shark, or bird, or might have supernatural powers. I think I shall respectfully pass. Thank you. Very much. No, seriously. I'll just be going now...
