The beautiful rainbow. In this case, a magnificent double rainbow. In Hawaiian belief. It signified the presence of the gods or chiefs. It is a sign of the ancestors. This double rainbow magnificently appeared after a short blessing rain on the Honolulu Festival Parade in Waikiki. It appeared across the length of Kalakaua Avenue and caused so many people to stop in their tracks and look up in amazement. Throngs of Japanese hula performers marching down Kalakaua stopped and looked up, pointing and applauding as camera's flashed towards the sky. It was a universally recognized ho'ailona to many different people and cultures as an acknowledgment of the beautiful loving Aloha spirit which pervaded everyone that special day. I didn't have a wide angle lens to capture the expanse across the sky. I could only capture a segment. But even a small segment of heavenly love is powerful. Mahalo no e Ke Akua. Mahalo no e na kupuna. Your beautiful gestures of love do not go unnoticed by us little people...
