
The Honolulu Festival Parade started out with a bang. I asked the guy from the City if they had a permit to pop firecrackers on Kalakaua Avenue. He said he would look into it and get back to me. Then the parade started and he ran away...

I had thought about bringing Vienna Sausage on a stick for a quick BBQ roasting snack...

The smoke erupted in a plume above the crowd...

The tar in the street started to melt, boil and bubble...

A plume of gunpowder smoke and gas rose above the tourists putting on a show for those visitors who can't make it up to Halema'uma'u Crater to see the volcano show...

Note to self. Don't sit by the firecrackers next time...
