Prom...

I honestly can't remember if I had a Freshman Dance, or Sophomore Banquet. I know I didn't attend my Junior Prom or Senior Prom. I didn't attend my University of Hawai'i Graduation Ceremony, nor my William S. Richardson School of Law Graduation Ceremony either. I didn't attend the Supreme Court Swearing-In Ceremony either, opting to get sworn in at a Bank of Hawai'i in Hilo before a Notary Public. I am really not much of a pomp and circumstance person and recognition makes me uncomfortable. Awards, Senate Floor Recognition Certificates, Commendations, etc. all make me uneasy so I usually have been absent from even my own recognition events.

On my Deathbed in 2012, my extensive resume and formal awards and recognitions meant nothing. My relationships with others and the simple sharing of Kindness, Compassion and Love meant everything. I am very shy believe it or not. Elliott is also shy, but I want to make sure that he experiences all that Life can offer. So his Mother and I will continue to encourage him, plus I can vicariously enjoy some missed experiences from a safe distance. Here he is at his Kamehameha Schools Junior Prom with a most Beautiful and Gracious date. Super Proud Daddy Status...
