Hōʻailona...

In October of 2019, I watched this endangered Hawaiian crow form with the Moon in a Powerful Hōʻailona. A Spiritual Message...

The 'Alalā was already a powerful symbol for me as my late sister, Nālani, did some Beautiful watercolors of them thirty-years ago. With so few left, they survive in captive breeding programs.

They represent the stubborn resiliency of our kānaka ʻōiwi in the face of the extinction of our Native Rights, and the wanton destruction of our sacred places, the stealing, poisoning and wasting of our Precious Ka Wai Ola a Kāne, the Life Giving Waters of Kāne, in our streams, and the capping off of our Sacred Springs, the poisoning of our 'ʻĀina, Precious Papa-Mother Earth, and the continued desecration of our "Most Cherished Possession" as a people. The iwi, the bones, of our Beloved kūpuna, violently ripped from their Eternal Rest.

A year and a half later, I understand this Hō'ailona more perfectly now.

My Spiritual Teacher, Guide and Protector, Kūaliʻi Kūnuiakea Kuikealaikauaokalani, the 19th Ali'i 'Aimoku of Oahu and 20th Ali'i 'Aimoku of Kauai who ruled in the 1700s. His shared messages bring me to tears often and humbles me to my core. We are Brothers in his words...

He wasn't just an Ali'i 'Aimoku,  a paramount ruler, but also a kahuna.

In his own words, a "Priest of ʻĪ" also known as the Most High. The Supreme...

He doesn't want to be remembered as an undefeated legendary warrior chief, as he only took Life when confronted. He wants his Legacy to be remembered as a kanaka who "maintained his Soul when so many others lost theirs during that time..."

He said that there is a Spiritual War going on right now, but our weapons are not the 'ihe laumeki (barbed spear), the leiomanō, (the shark toothed club) or the newa (club).

Our weapon and strength in this Spiritual Battle is "Love."

Something he wishes that he had used more of during his Reign.

He was born at Kalapawai in Kailua on O'ahu.

He was consecrated at the Heiau known as 'Alalā...

Sometimes it takes me awhile to discern and understand my Life, but the Hō'ike 'Ana, the Revelations, come when needed most...

Love you Brother...

Mahalo Ke Akua.
The Most High...
