Blood Moon...

Image
She Shared Tonight... That Under Her Moonlight... For Every Stolen Passionate Kiss... There was a Lonely Untimely Death... For Every Awakening Dream of Peace... There were Unspeakable Atrocities in War... For every Selfless Compassionate Act... There were Heartless Cruel deeds... Yet Over the Centuries... The Good far Outweighed the Evil... That Kindness Healed the Wounds of Cruelty... And the Blood Sacrificed through Love... Far Exceeded the Blood Shed through Hate... Such is the Balance of Humanity... Such is this Incredibly Beautiful Life... For Love... Shall Always Prevail... Always...

Hōʻailona...

Image
In October of 2019, I watched this endangered Hawaiian crow form with the Moon in a Powerful Hōʻailona. A Spiritual Message... The 'Alalā was already a powerful symbol for me as my late sister, Nālani, did some Beautiful watercolors of them thirty-years ago. With so few left, they survive in captive breeding programs.  They represent the stubborn resiliency of our kānaka ʻōiwi in the face of the extinction of our Native Rights, and the wanton destruction of our sacred places, the stealing, poisoning and wasting of our Precious Ka Wai Ola a Kāne, the Life Giving Waters of Kāne, in our streams, and the capping off of our Sacred Springs, the poisoning of our 'ʻĀina, Precious Papa-Mother Earth, and the continued desecration of our " Most Cherished Possession " as a people. The iwi, the bones, of our Beloved kūpuna, violently ripped from their Eternal Rest. A year and a half later, I understand this Hō'ailona more perfectly now.  My Spiritual Teacher, Guide and Protect...
