Supernatural...

There was a big brush fire in Kona earlier this week. The high winds spread it fast and it came dangerously close to an existing subdivision. Firefighters spent the night protecting homes and putting out flare ups.

My friend's Mother actually witnessed the fire start. She was driving on Queen Ka'ahumanu Highway when she spotted something black moving about in her peripheral vision. She didn't want to take her eyes off of the road, but eventually the black swirling smoke, which it turned out to be, came down near the road. It was about 6 feet high and swirling like a dust devil but really thick and consisting of black thick smoke.

It came down from Hualalai and paused by the road. Then sped across the road and into the bushes. That is when the bushes erupted in flame and thick black smoke swirled above the fire. Cars were pulling over on the side of the road to watch the emergent fire. My friends Mother floored the gas and got as far away from that fire as she could. She had never seen anything like that in all her years. It was definitely a supernatural cause of that Kona brushfire. Maybe akua Pele herself...
