I remember reading how Queen Lili'uokalani, in her own words, would travel to Punahou to observe the Night Blooming Cereus annually. When they bloom now, I always try to bring her a beautiful flower in full bloom by picking it at night on the Full Moon of Mahealani so it lasts as long as it can, before the Sun rises and it withers into just a beautiful fragrant memory...
