I love to write when I am inspired. It is Healing. I share some seemingly altruistic stories, not out of self-aggrandizement or to seek praise, but to process what happened. There are many lessons upon which I need to reflect. My memory also fades with time and I appreciate reading older accounts of my Life which allow me to grow and learn, when details often fade. I know in reading other's people's experiences in Charity or otherwise, inspires me and helps me in countless ways. This afternoon, I went to get provisions for the family at Costco in Hawai'i Kai. It was good to get out of the apartment that I have been sequestered in for almost a year with limited excursions outside. After shopping, I wanted to eat something other than oatmeal, hardboiled eggs, and drinking, rather scarfing down, emulsified brussels sprouts, spinach and broccoli blended in my Vitamix. I just woke up from a nap and glanced outside my lanai to see the silhouette of a large raptor circling and gliding above the Ala Moana and Kaheka area darkened against the setting Sun. I watched in stunned silence and awe as it soared around and around getting closer and closer. With my Heart pounding, I ran to my bedroom to grab my camera and put on the telephoto lens, returning only to find it had disappeared out of sight. It looked eagle size, more than hawk. I stayed outside for twenty-minutes, scanning the sky, hoping it would come back, to no avail. My Heart is still racing as I sit here an write this. It reminded me of the time I flew 5000 miles to rescue my father in D.C. in 2014 and saw two large Golden Eagles circling above my rental car as I left the rental place near Dulles Airport. After the shocking events of yesterday at the U.S. Capitol, the first thing I did when I woke up this morning was to start assembling a Kānaka 'Ōiwi Care Package to send to Hawai'i Congressman Kai Kahele. Kānoa 'awa... 'Apu 'awa... Malo 'ula'ula... Mahiole hoaka... Lei Niho Palaoa... 'Ahu'ula 'alaneo... Akua ka'ai... Akua Kihawahine... Kūpe'e ho'okalakala... Mea kaua... Spam...
