I remember my Father and I... Would take long walks Together... On Mauna Loa Road... Just the Two of Us... Quietly enjoying the Beauty of this World... We didn't talk Much... Sometimes when you are with someone you Love... You just kind of Know... And Understand... Each Other... And when they are Gone... You still Know and Understand... Each Other... Without Words... With Love...
Blessings...

Today we had a Beautiful sharing of 'ike Hawai'i at Damien Memorial School. High school classses learned about Hawaiian history, culture, values and 'ike utilizing a vast assortment of mea Hawai'i. Hawaiian artifacts, and cultural materials. We covered all aspects of ancient Hawaiian society including utilitarian and religious subjects, class systems, warfare, Mana, akua, and Spirit. The melding of Hawaiian Spirituality in a Roman Catholic School celebrating Christ was profoundly Beautiful. Deeply grateful for the profound Love Saint Damien showed our beloved people afflicted with Hansen's Disease, to the point of giving up his own Life to comfort and care for others, truly the ultimate sacrifice. It was Beautiful and Healing to give a little back to the children and their Kumu who are helping to keep his Legacy of Aloha alive...
