True story. When Grant and I were at Bishop Museum during the Hawaiian Hall rededication ceremony. We overheard two women looking at the kapa, or barkcloth exhibit, astonished that our kupuna had brains. Thank God for kapa. Thatʻs all I can say. Otherwise I would grow up feeling Dumberer...

Don't feel too bad.

In California, they were doing some archaeology by a mission church, and ended up uncovering some graves of Indians there. The excavation was open to the public and every so often tourists would wander through and ask questions.

One of the questions was: "Are those human bones...or are they Indian bones?"
