Te Kapa Haka o Te Pou-o-Mangatāwhiri...

"Te Pou-o-Mangatāwhiri (performing troupe) was formed in 1921 under the guidance of Princess Te Puea Herangi, niece of Kīngi Te Rata, the third Māori King. In 2005, with the blessing support of the late Māori Queen, Te Arikinui Te Atairangikaahu, Te Pou-o-Magnatāwhiri underwent a revitalization and has focused on performing arts as a medium for reviving stories, songs, dances, and other gifts handed down by their ancestors. Today, Te Pou-o-Mangatāwhiri participates and performs at various special tribal and Kingitanga occasions as well as WOMAD with Tiki Taane and Rugby World Cup 2011. Mahalo to Raukura Roa and Rangimaria Cooper-Te Koi."

A most beautiful day with our cousins the Maori. It was so nice to see the students from Halau Lokahi and Hakipu'u Learning Center present to bear witness and participate. Mahalo to their beautiful Kumu...
