Koa...


When my son Koa stops by my office, he likes to explore his heritage. He wears an 'ahu'ula, a feather cape, and holds a newa, or war club made by ʻŌlohe Kaha Toledo, fashioned from the bill of a large Marlin. It is very dense, almost like stone. He also bears a Māori staff of Ke Akua...'Io...a beautiful gift from Māori brother Carmen Hetaraka...
