Healing...

I stopped by 'Iolani Palace to visit my Beautiful Brother Kalani. He is still struggling to find his Voice to express his 'eha and kaumaha. His pain and burden of sadness. He stays under the canopy of Banyan trees during the day and sleeps just outside the Palace gates at night. We were excited to see each other and embraced many times during the visit, professing our Love for each other. I ran out to get him some food for his Body and energy, and we spoke of many things Hawaiian for his Spirit. The Body and Spirit.  The kino and wailua. Equally important to sustain both.

He spoke of being awoken on the steps of the State Library by Sheriffs. When he spoke of one who pulled his bags down the stairs in anger, and of being kicked in the back as he slept, by another Sheriff's boots, to wake him up, he burst into tears. As did I. Wholly uncalled for. This is not how we treat each other...

Another kanaka stopped by us and spoke of Ke Akua and His Realm as it related to all things going on today. We stood, the three of us, in mesmerizing conversation of Truths that resonated in our deepest Being. Kalani lamented that his approach isn't always the most tactful or gentle, and that he is working hard to find his way, and his proper Voice amidst the din of criticism. He knows he can be overwhelming at times. Painfully aware. He is trying to bring attention to the Spiritual side of our Hawaiian Kingdom. Too much focus on the Politics. Not enough attention on the Spirit. Historically taken care of by 'Umi-a-Liloa, by Kamehameha, by Kekuaokalani..

Kalani shared his food with others who stopped by to visit with him. An eclectic assortment of Humanity, many seeking the Spiritual affirmation and glue to put the pieces of their shattered and broken Dreams back together again. To become Whole again. Kalani has that right as well. We all do. To become Whole again. Whole by Loving and Understanding each other...
