At the Kamehameha Day Parade, I saw a procession of gentlemen with the Royal Order of Kamehameha approaching the Kamehameha statue...

It was a huaka'i...

They made their way around the statue...

A solemn procession to honor Pai'ea...

It was proceeded by a chanter...

Who gave a beautiful oli as a ho'okupu...

The procession made its way around to the front of the statue...

Everyone deep in thought...

On this auspicious day, the 'uhane of Pai'ea was around...

Everyone could feel the presence...

And contemplated the past, present and future...

The Na Wahine Hui 'o Kamehameha of the Royal Order of Kamehameha was also present to lend their Mana...

They gathered in front of Pai'ea...

Beautiful mele and oli were presented...

As they gazed upon one of the greatest leaders of our time...

And after the final ho'okupu of reverence and connection...

They offered their salute...

And closed the tribute to Pai'ea on the most auspicious day. He inoa no Kamehameha...
