Honor Stand...
I saw this Honor Stand in North Kohala. It is nice to see them in rural communities still. Farmers leave their fresh produce out and you help yourself and leave the money in a lock box on the honor system. No employees or worker's compensation. Just pure trust in human nature, morals and ethics. I know some people, unfortunately, take food without leaving proper compensation. Others, however, leave more than what is truly owed. So I think it balances out in the end. If I had a lot of money, I would put a $100 bill in the box, from time to time, without taking any food. Just to reward the farmers for continuing to place their trust in the goodness of human nature in this increasingly greedy distrusting self-centered world...
