Ka Hali'a Aloha...

Aloha no e na po'e aloha. Mahalo no ia 'oukou pakahi apau. I send my love to your 'ohana. I thank you on behalf of my 'ohana. My children. My kupuna. Our Hawaiian people. Thank you for giving of yourself, in kino, in 'uhane, to proudly and with dignity, honor our kupuna. Honor our ali'i. Mahalo for giving of yourself and your time. Mahalo for taking your role so seriously in serving as the reminder of our glorious past. Of loving memories. Na Hali'a Aloha. Making our kupuna o na po'e kahiko so proud that they are not forgotten. Ensuring they will lead us into our future. For bringing the 'uhane back to our precious and fragile 'Iolani Palace. I'm sorry that more of our Hawaiian people couldn't be there for this dignified ceremony in support of you and what you represent. I'm sorry that there were more tourists than kanaka. I know our people truly care for, and Aloha you. I know our people truly appreciate, and Aloha 'Iolani Palace. I know our people truly love and Aloha our beloved Queen. It is just that people are often busy on Friday afternoons. After all, it is pau hana time. It is Aloha Friday...

This past weekend, I wasn’t able to really capture the Super Moon as how I had envisioned. On Friday, my abdomen started hurting. I wasn’t sure what was causing it, and just suffered through it as it was manageable at the time. By Sunday, it had gotten progressively worse. A feeling of dread came over me as I was worried it might be something serious, even life-threatening. It became so excruciating, that I contemplated going to Queen’s Hospital ER, but feared that I would be admitted to the hospital. I have so much going on right now that I can’t afford to be out of commission. At the same time, a good friend just died of pancreatitis and if I come down with that condition a third time, the chance of surviving this round is projected to be slim. It really put me in a depressed state. I felt like I had been given so many chances, but still was gambling with my life by not always staying the course of a healthy diet. Sacred 'Iao Valley...

In 2011, I brought my family to Sacred 'Iao Valley. We also brought the P ō haku W ā n ā n ā  o Pai'ea. His mo'olelo he shared was "Created in the fires of Halema'uma'u by the hands of Pele, and the waters of Kanaloa, for the prophet Ke'eaunaoa; I bear the face of Nae'ole and share the Spirit of K ū . I tell the story of the Killer of Chiefs. I am the embodiment of Ke Akua/'Io, who are one in the same. I am the tangible proof given to Ke'eaunaoa to show Keku'iapoiwa (Kamehameha's Mother) that the prophecy is true, and name Nae'ole as her son's kahu and keeper."   While there, we chanted and prayed for the lives lost in the Battle of Kepaniwai, to help those ready to ascend, and to help Heal the history between the warring families and islands to find forgiveness for each other.
