Limu...

I was taught that the Kumulipo shows that for every plant in the ocean, there is a corresponding plant on land. A symbiotic relationship ensues, maybe more in a spiritual sense, then physical. This limu is mauka, growing in a tree. I don't know enough about limu to make any pronouncements about the properties of this small specimen, or even begin to guess at the corresponding ocean brethren. All I know is that this pastel tree limu is sacred. How do I know this? Because this beautiful and delicate boughed entanglement was made by the hand of Ke Akua, and given his breath of life. How could I be so arrogant in this world, to not consider a precious gift from our Creator, as anything other than sacred...
