You make me happy when you let me hold your piglets. You make me mad when you scare me by bolting out of the dark bushes. You make me happy when your tusks transform into adornments and bracelets. You made me the angriest when you dug up the interred bodies of epidemic victims, desecrating our loved ones to feast in your insatiable and indiscriminate hunger. But I forgive all of your misdeeds and misgivings, because you made me the happiest when you served as the mohai, the sacrifice, in countless ceremonies of old, instead of my kupuna, when the oracle tower sent forth the kauoha, that a kanaka wasn't needed.
