Bad Storytelling...

A good friend whom came into my life about a year ago, and who ended up on a righteous mission with me to save precious natural, cultural and historical resources, stopped by yesterday. We took care of business and then conversed. Another co-worker joined us. The conversation quickly turned to Hawaiian culture, spiritual and religious beliefs and Ke Akua. Demons. Angels. Kahuna. 'Aumakua. Kanenuiakea. Lononuiakea. Kunuiakea. Kanaloa. The Holy Trinity. The Bible. Constellations. Prophecy. Love. Lots of deep philosophical stuff. Then we opened up and began to share personal experiences which we considered unusual and spiritual. I began to tell a story which happened to me about seven years ago. I was only able to get about a third of the way through my story when I was overcome by emotion and broke down. I was amazed that the story was still so raw. After we changed the subject for awhile. I thought I could begin to retell the story to my two eager listeners who were left disappointedly hanging as I abruptly stopped my tale. Sure enough. As I resumed, I didn't get very far before breaking down again. I gave up and we all laughed about it. My laughter from embarrassment. Their laughter to let me know it was alright. They would have to wait to hear the rest and the end. I told them I would write it down because even after all these years. It still obviously has a deep impact on me...
